IALLT Interview Project Episode 11: Interview about LingoTeach.AI with Alasdair Harris

In this interview, Jeff discusses Lingoteach.ai with its founder, Alasdair Harris. Alasdair explains his background as a language teacher as well as a technologist, expounding upon his vision for the use of technology specifically to support instructors. The Lingoteach.ai app is designed to create a number of templated learning activities with varying and adjustable parameters, using prompts and/or text provided by the instructor. As such, it is useful in several languages as well as at a variety of proficiency levels. A demonstration with narration comprises the middle portion of the interview, and it concludes with a discussion of potential visions for next steps for the app as well as where things may be headed with regards to artificial intelligence (AI), individualizing language acquisition, and language teaching and learning generally.
