The Cultura Model is a perfect way to help students become internationally minded and develop better interpersonal and intercultural skills. Empathy is one of the good results !
Besides that, by reflecting upon cultural differences, the students are able to analyse their own principles and values, an essential metacognitive competence in the 21st century.

I consider the Cultura Model an effective way of helping students to become internationally minded. Developing the intercultural skills is, in my opinion, one of the most important 21st century skills because it is real life on one hand and it has a philosophical approach in the sense that it makes the students reflect on their own cultural values and principles

It is really a nice project to be taken into consideration between students.
Students will enjoy to exchange the cultural differences between students and among different cultures.
It is an interesting project though it is not applicable much and well- known in my country.
it would be a great idea to start implementing such projects despite the challenges that we might face.

It is really an interesting project where students will exchange information through the different cultures. It is really interesting when students know different cultures around the world and get to know more about the different countries.
This kind of project is not well developed and applicable so far in my country but it would be a great idea to start working on such projects.

I think the idea of contrast the culture background of two different countries, becomes extremely meaninful for students not only because they are encourage to use L2 in order to communicate their ideas with foreigners but also they show interest of knowing another way of thinking.

An interesting project that has potential. As was pointed out in a comment above, there would be a lot of prep involved as the two teachers in two different cultures negotiated how to set up this sort of exchange.
I also would like to know if this is available for high school and middle school students. And if so, what sorts of security is in place so that younger learners would be safe in this online environment.

It is a lovely sort of student exchange programme (nearly!) suitable for these pandemic times.Using Google Forms is easy. But this programme can be used only when the number of foreign language learners in each country is sufficient. For example, not many American students would want to learn Tamil!

Thank you for finding a well organized and systematic way for students to engage in intercultural reflections and conversations! I am very interested in incorporating the Cultura program with my intermediate and advanced students!

Given that assessment in distance learning is currently being re evaluated and explored in creative ways, I can see how the movement through the activities and forums described here could lend it self to better practices with regard to student centered learning and differentiation.

In reply to Sergio Parejo. Great! Highly interesting. Language is a reflection of culture, the second embedded into the first. Through language we communicate what we are as individuals, a people or a culture. Intercultural communication understood this way, sounds really motivating and natural. The whole process of the activity, gathers different steps which altogether respond to the essence of language teaching. I will be worth trying.
